Escuela Verde is a public charter school authorized by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, operated by TransCenter for Youth. We ground our learning practices on the EdVisions Project-Based Learning model. Escuela Verde is designed to support students interested in sustainability, student-led learning, and restorative justice. This year, we admitted a total of 70 students entering grades 7-12. We will grow to a total of 100 students in grades 7-12 next year.


What is Project-Based Learning?

Project-Based Learning is the natural way to learn. Students set their own learning goals in order to meet the graduation requirements of the school. At Escuela Verde, students develop, research, work, and produce their own projects—they meet learning on their own terms In practice, Project-Based Learning means:
